Need to satisfy a sweet tooth? Flip ‘n Dip Frozen Yogurt is coming to Nanuet. After starting their first location in Tallman, NY in September 2009, Owners Lauren and Scott Olson are planning to open up their second location in the Kohl’s Shopping Center at the end of winter or early spring. 

Flip ‘n Dip offers rotating flavors of self-serve soft serve frozen yogurt, ice cream, custard, sorbet and Italian Ice. It also has a full service section with hard scooped frozen yogurt, ice cream, sorbet, sherbet and Italian Ice. Check out their full menu on their website.

Flip ‘n Dip also takes the guilt out of enjoying these sweet treats. The soft serve frozen yogurt is low in fat and calories, high in active yogurt cultures and kosher. Some of Flip ‘n Dip’s Italian Ice’s are fat free and dairy free, which the Olsons say is ”a perfect addition to your cup of frozen yogurt. Customers create their own frozen treat, from a variety of products in the store.”

Flip ‘n dip also features a self-serve topping bar with dozens of toppings to choose from, including fresh fruits, cookie, cereal and candy toppings, syrups and fudges. Sugar free choices are also available.

Giving Back

The Olsons believe in giving back to the community they live and work in. In May 2011, they hosted a fundraiser in which a portion of the sales benefitted People to People, Rockland County’s largest food pantry.

The Process

“Flip ‘n Dip is arranged in a way that allows customers to pick up a cup and easily travel through the store, grabbing treats from our self-serve or full-serve sections and topping bar, with a simple three step process,” said Olson.

1. First you grab a cup, and fill it from soft serve machines, or scoops of your choice
2. Second, you can top it with fresh fruits, or a tantalizing array of toppings
3. Third, you weigh, pay and Flip ‘n Dip!

“Flip ‘n Dip’s self-serve/full-serve concept means that customers pay by weight and can pile on as many toppings as they like,” added Olson. “Flavors and choices are changed regularly, and can be checked on our Facebook page and Twitter.”

Flip ‘n dip-Tallman is located at 296 Route 59, Tallman, NY 10982 in the Airmont Town Center between
Walmart and Wendy’s.

Both stores are open 7 days a week, throughout the year, and offer comfortable indoor seating, plenty of parking, and free Wi-Fi.
