Take Mom Out, All For A Good Cause

Flip ‘N Dip Frozen Yogurt will be having a Mother's Day fundraiser all weekend, the proceeds of which will go to People to People

Not quite sure what to do with your mom this weekend? How about taking her out for frozen yogurt, which will be all the sweeter because part of the money that you’ll spend will go to one of Rockland’s most important non-profit organizations: People to People.

If you stop by Flip ‘N Dip Frozen Yogurt this weekend with the flyer attached to this article, 20 percent of your purchase will go to People to People, ensuring that they are able to continue their important work of helping Rocklanders in dire financial situations.

The idea for the fundraiser came from Flip ‘N Dip owners Lauren and Scott Olson.

“She (Lauren) called me and said she wanted to a fundraiser for us,” said People to People Executive Director Diane Serratore. “They’ve created flyers that we’ve been distributing. If people bring a flyer or mention People to People, 20 percent goes to us. We are encouraging everyone to take their mom out.”

Flip ‘N Dip Frozen Yogurt is located at 296 Route 59, Tallman, NY, between Walmart & Wendy’s, across from Tallman Fire Department. The fundraiser will be going on Saturday and Sunday and Flip ‘N Dip Frozen is open from noon to 10 p.m.

Founded in 1973, People to People is dedicated to improving the lives of those in Rockland who have fallen upon hard times. A member of the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley and a Feeding America partner, People to People serves a critical mission in our community, especially in these times of economic hardship, by providing food for low-income families and seniors who are having a difficult time meeting their basic nutritional needs.

People to People is in fact Rockland’s largest food pantry. However, they are really much more than just a food pantry. They also provide school supplies to children from low-income families, clothing to those who need it, bagged lunches to day laborers, and seasonal items, including toys, which enable so many needy families in our area to celebrate cherished holidays.
