Celebrate New Year's Eve Quietly Or With Fireworks


Each day, Patch provides the nuts and bolts of local happenings with our five-bullet local dispatch. 

1)   Events: Celebrate an informal New Year’s Eve at the Nanuet Hebrew Center. The gathering begins at 7:30 p.m. and guests are welcome to bring acoustic instruments for a sing-a-long, board games and the kids. Entertainment includes DJ music and family movies. 2) Events: Welcome 2014 with simultaneous fireworks in Nyack, Piermont and Haverstraw at midnight. Free fireworks and parking with funding provided by the Rockland County Office of Tourism & Economic Development and I Love NY.

See the Haverstraw fireworks at either Emeline Park at 16 Front Street or Bowline Park at 1 Bowline Plant Road. 3) Weather: Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with a high of 37° and 10 to 20 mph winds. Temperature will drop down to about 19°during the overnight hours.
