Five Freshmen students were awarded certificates by the Kearsing Edwards Post 1600 of the American Legion in appreciation of and recognition for active participation in the Montrose Veterans Christmas Party on December 11, 2010. Mr. Joseph Troy, President/Principal of Albertus Magnus presented students Christian Torres, Tabitha Salci, Lauren Cappello, and Kierstyn Power with the awards after the school Mass on Friday, February 18, 2011 which was celebrated by Rev. Frank Bassett of St. Anthony Parish in Nanuet. Madison Kandoth was also recognized but was not in attendance. The students had volunteered their time and energy at the legion's Christmas party for the veterans.

Our politicians control our demand. They could enact legislation to restrict demand tomorrow: Introduce water saving measures, restrict growth and introduce incentives and policies to conserve, but do they?
No, of course not, they would rather showboat and slam UW, who are doing what the State has mandated.
If our local politicians are serious on this issue, propose real legislation and water conservation measure, not just baseless rebuke of UW.
