Nanuet's Megan Young Qualifies For Elite HS Millrose Mile

 

Megan Young of Nanuet HS qualified to run in the Millrose High School Mile on February 16th, 2013. She gained an at-large bid on time by running 5:00.92 in the Millrose Games Trials on on January 16th, 2013. 

The Millrose Games is the world's most famous indoor track & field meet with high profile high school, collegiate and elite athletes.  For the second consecutive season it will be at The Armory instead of MSG.  It is the 106th running of the meet. 

She will be racing the top milers in the country.  The Girls race will feature 

  • Regan Ward of Beggs, Okla, 
  • Kristiane Width of the United Nations International School,
  • Pennsbury's Sara Sargent, 
  • Bella Burda (Arlington),
  • Sarah DeSanza (High Point Regional),
  • Gianna Frontera (Newburgh),
  • Tiana Guevara (Miller Place), 
  • Laura Leff (West Geneseo),
  • Marissa Sheva (Pennridge), 
  • Sabrina Southerland (Cardozo),
  • Kennedy Weisner (Elk County Christian).  

The 106th Millrose Games — Feb. 16 at The Armory — will be televised.  The Games will be televised live on ESPN3 on Feb. 16 and shown at 8-10 pm Feb. 17 on ESPN.

This is just ridiculous. There are two aspects to our water. Supply and demand. United WaterRead More control our supply and have been instructed by the NY Public Service Commission to increase our supply. Our politicians control our demand. They could enact legislation to restrict demand tomorrow: Introduce water saving measures, restrict growth and introduce incentives and policies to conserve, but do they? No, of course not, they would rather showboat and slam UW, who are doing what the State has mandated. If our local politicians are serious on this issue, propose real legislation and water conservation measure, not just baseless rebuke of UW.
