An intrguing Rockland County history story.

In the Fall of this year, Tom Reily, a respected historian and author, and County Legislator John Murphy will make at presentation as part of Bob Martin’s popular 20 year old Arm Chair Tour of Rockland’s history and places.
Tom and John will talk about all the orphanages, over a dozen, that once existed in Rockland.
Some of them were St. Agnes in Sparkill; St. Dominic’s in Blauvelt; St. Agatha’s in Nanuet; St. Joseph’s in Piermont; House of the Good Shepard in Haverstraw/Stony Point; Woody Crest-Happy Valley-Five Points in Pomona; Lakeside and Edwin Gould in Ramapo;
They would like to hear from anyone who can tell them anything about these institutions and more importantly, provide them  with photos. Simply send an email to Legislatorjohnmurphy@gmail.com or Tom Reily at totrwriter@aol.com. It’s  a fascinating forgotten story, but a significant part of Rockland's history.
