Holiday Rain, Snow On The Way In Rockland

The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rain tonight through Friday and chance of snow this weekend and on Christmas Eve.

It may not be a white Christmas in Rockland this year, but folks should be ready for some major rain and a few snow showers this week and weekend.

The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rain and strong winds for the area beginning late tonight and continuing into Friday morning. Rockland could see up to an inch of rain, thunderstorms, strong wind gusts and fog.

The worst of the weather will hit during Friday's rush-hour, morning commute, according to the NWS.

Also, expect snow showers Friday night into early Saturday morning and more snowflakes on Christmas Eve night, according to the NWS. But it looks like Christmas Day is in the clear, with a high of 37 and partly sunny skies.

Keep the umbrellas and boots handy this weekend while doing that last-minute holiday shopping!

This is just ridiculous. There are two aspects to our water. Supply and demand. United WaterRead More control our supply and have been instructed by the NY Public Service Commission to increase our supply. Our politicians control our demand. They could enact legislation to restrict demand tomorrow: Introduce water saving measures, restrict growth and introduce incentives and policies to conserve, but do they? No, of course not, they would rather showboat and slam UW, who are doing what the State has mandated. If our local politicians are serious on this issue, propose real legislation and water conservation measure, not just baseless rebuke of UW.
