As we have all seen, some of us in person, and some of us on television, Hurricane Sandy has turned thousands of people's lives upside down.

For the time being, Jessie and I are off the trail and unable to walk as our home is repaired from extensive flood damage, but our mission to inspire kindness is stronger than ever before.

I am writing to you today in the hopes you will do whatever you can to help those affected by the Hurricane. So many people are in need. You can help in so many ways, from being courteous to those in long lines or traffic to bringing food and water to those who are still in dire need of any assistance.

I've already received stories from people in our Walk4Good family who have baked cookies for first-responders, waited in line for gas for complete strangers, helped clean up people's homes, and done small acts of kindness to those ravaged by this storm.

Remember, this storm uprooted more than trees and people's possessions. It changed the course of people's lives. During this difficult time, please do what you can to help your neighbors. No gesture is too small. And coming from someone who was severely affected by the storm, I can tell you first hand that I will be eternally grateful to those friends who pitched in to help with storm cleanup. Their acts of kindness towards me helped make a very difficult time much more bearable.

Help make a difference. There is so much to do and so many people who need our help.

I urge you to make a donation to Walk4Good today. Any money we receive from November 1 - January 1 will go directly to those affected by Hurricane Sandy. Just click the Paypal link to the right to donate today.

Thank you,
