Not sure what to do for lunch or dinner today, stop by Jimmy's on Main in Nanuet and support the Rebuild Hi-Tor effort at the same time.
10 percent of all proceeds, dine in, carry out or delivery, will go to the cause. Last year, the Rebuild Hi-Tor fundraising effort kicked off in an attempt to raise enough funds to build a new animal shelter. The current Hi Tor Animal Care Center, which was built in 1973, is in very poor condition and the center was at risk of shutting down. With the lack of county funding, several members of the public have teamed up with Hi-Tor to form a plan to save the shelter.
Since then, many have stepped up to the plate to help out, from families setting up donation tables and booths on weekends to businesses hosting fundraisers like the one at Jimmy's on Main.
Mark your calendars and stop by Just Buns in Congers on Saturday, Feb. 9 to support Rebuild Hi-Tor and RSVP for the Apples Poker Run on Sunday, Mar 3. Here is the organization's latest newsletter that details past and upcoming events for the rebuild effort.
