Bob Dylan at Revived Capitol Theatre Tonight in Port Chester

Iconic musician kicks off re-opening of famed music venue.

Bob Dylan is back in Port Chester tonight.

The Capitol Theatre has scheduled the legendary musician to headline the first show at the refurbished concert venue when it re-opens today. The 8 p.m. show is sold out.

In the past, Dylan has used the Capitol for rehearsal space. After a multi-million renovation, the iconic musician kicks off the  that is expected to bring many music fans back to Port Chester.

"It's a great gift for the Capitol Theatre and fans of live music," said music entrepreneur Peter Shapiro, who's leading the Capitol's revival. "It's going to give the theatre a lot of positive momentum from the beginning, and I think that is something that will benefit all of the shows that come after September 4th."

Port Chester Mayor Dennis Pilla cheered the news of Dylan coming to Port Chester.

"Wow, that's impressive," Pilla said. "That clearly shows how iconic the Capitol Theatre is."

Bob Dylan ? This guy was a sleeper 30 years ago. Can't imagine what he is like in his old age...probably over 70 ?

Bob Dylan was on fire last night. He was full of youth and vitality. Great time!

Dylan is a great song writer but his voice is a grating as fingernails on a blackboard. Other people's covers of his songs are much better than the originals. I saw the Dead do a cover of a Dylan song once. The only thing worse would have been if little Bobby Z showed up to sing it himself.
