Final Approval Passes for Shops at Nanuet

Those driving by the Nanuet Mall have seen the . It's being demolished to make way for the Shops at Nanuet, an open air Main Street concept. Now, after several months of meetings, discussion, compromise and planning, Clarkstown Planning Board has passed the final approval for the Shops at Nanuet.

"It feels terrific. I want to thank the exceptional cooperation from the Town of Clarkstown," said Ira Emanuel of the Law Office of Ira M. Emanuel, P.C. in New City who is representing Nanuet Mall Owner Simon Property. "Now we're continuing on with the demolition. We still have a lot of work to do to meet the conditions of the final approval and obtain various agency permits."

"It was a team effort and we'd like to thank the consultants and work staff for all the work they put into it," said the Clarkstown Planning Board. "We're looking forward to it opening."

Rudolph J.Yacyshyn, Vice Chairman of the Planning Board read off the resolution to approve the Shops at Nanuet and he was seconded by Board Member Peter E. Streitman; the resolution was passed unanimously.
