On Tuesday morning last week, July 24, Roof4Roof’s founder Chuck Anania embarked on a “500 Miles for 500 Roofs” bike trek. He will cycle through New Jersey, New York and Connecticut from now through Aug. 7.
Anania will be riding through Nanuet on Wednesday, Aug. 1 and through New City on Thursday, Aug. 2. For a calendar with a complete list of cities on the Bike Trek or for more information on Roof4Roof, visit www.roof4roof.org
Roof4Roof is a Montclair, New Jersey-based roofing company that donates free roofing to families in need. Inspired by TOMS Shoes, Roof4Roof is simple; for every roof they sell to a paying client, they will donate a roof to a family in need at no charge. Since its inception in 2010, Roof4Roof has helped hundreds of people by donating free roofs, or free roofing repairs.
"Roofing is what I know how to do. I truly believe that replacing someone's roof is a long-lasting benefit," said Anania. "Buy a roof, give a roof. One for one.
Anania wants people to know their roof can make a difference, according to roof4roof. He’s not Lance Armstrong. He’s just an average guy on a mission to help families in need.
