Meet New City Local Who Launched Sportswear Line (VIDEO)

True Athelite right now has basketball shorts, shirts and shooting sleeves

Andrew Arcangel, of New City, introduced something new to sports merchandise. His business, True Athelite, launched Monday night and offers shorts, shirts and shooting sleeves for basketball, which is the company's niche market.

"Upon graduating from Fordham University last year, I was offered two lucrative positions at successful companies, but they could not quell my passion for basketball and entrepreneurship," said Arcangel. "After receiving a surprise inheritance from my grandmother, all signs pointed to starting my own basketball sportswear company, which I named True Athelite."

He developed special technology for his sportswear, which combines odor proguard, UV shield and sweat technology. Watch his interview video with Patch to learn more about this technology. Check out this Patch article which looks at the and check back later this week to learn more about how True Athelite came into being.

This is just ridiculous. There are two aspects to our water. Supply and demand. United WaterRead More control our supply and have been instructed by the NY Public Service Commission to increase our supply. Our politicians control our demand. They could enact legislation to restrict demand tomorrow: Introduce water saving measures, restrict growth and introduce incentives and policies to conserve, but do they? No, of course not, they would rather showboat and slam UW, who are doing what the State has mandated. If our local politicians are serious on this issue, propose real legislation and water conservation measure, not just baseless rebuke of UW.
