Nanuet 7-Eleven to Replace Jennifer Convertibles

They plan to open by the end of 2012

There's a new face coming to Route 59 in Nanuet. 7-Eleven is replacing  this December at the corner of Route 59 and College Avenue.

"Our plan is to get it open by the end of this year," said Margaret Chabris, Director of Corporate Communications for 7-Eleven, Inc. "We can’t be that precise about the date for the 7-Eleven opening in Nanuet. Mostly because of what could happen in the final construction and certificate-of-occupancy process."

The closing of Jennifer Convertibles in Nanuet meant it was also the last in Rockland, although the company does have stores in Westchester and Bergen counties. Store locations can be found at its website

The Nanuet location closed 6 - 9 months according to David Borgen of Jennifer Convertibles. Although there's been rumors in the community that it went bankrupt, Borgen also clarified that "the company is not in bankruptcy. The company is still valid. It used to be a public company and now it's private. It's just not a publicly-traded company anymore."

"We have 30-50 stores in the chain. We're still around. We just closed the stores that were not up to our standards," said Borgen.
