don't think there is a need for another grocery store in that area. maybe something along the lines of a small speciality type of store.

Trader Joe's would be wonderful. I know my friends would love a Fairway. I thought I'd like Stop and Shop in New City, but the prices are high and the produce goes bad too quickly. The gas station is a bust, as you have to buy stuff at the store to get a decent price. Didn't realize that - I think it was a well-kept secret. NO Walmart or Kmart! Not for what that shopping center wants to be. No store that carries guns that kids can see. I still miss Bradlee's in New City. It was a great place to run in and find anything and everything. Put one next to Stop and Shop!

Walmart or Kmart? You must be kidding! For sure that area of route 59 would be more of an eyesore that it is already! On the other hand an Trader Joe'w would only add to the area.

That would be interesting, given that their Paramus location is not that far away. But they are filling in spots on Long Island (they have Plainview and are opening in Westbury) so it's possible. I live in Northern Westchester, so it would become the closest Fairway for me (right now Pelham and Paramus are equally far from me, and at least I can get cheap gas when I go to Paramus).

Walmart kills local small businesses. Do some research.
Peggy Wilkins March 08, 2012 at 06:46 PM

Please Please Please be a Fairway! I love would a closer one than Paramus (I can never buy frozen foods out of fear they will melt on the way home).

This area would benefit from a Wegmans as you can purchases EVERYTHING under one roof. In addition to the great shopping experience, it's listed as Fortune 100 best companies to work for which in a nutshell says it all. http://www.wegmans.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/HomepageView?storeId=10052&catalogId=10002&langId=-1&clear=true
