Reopening Nanuet Restaurant Hosts Private Party (VIDEO)

Banchetto Feast celebrated their reopening with a dinner party on Thursday night

Banchetto Feast reopens its doors to the public on Friday. After seven months of waiting, Owners Eddie Almeida and David A. Alvarez celebrated with an invite-only private dinner party Thursday night.

On the menu for their guests: garlic rolls, fresh ciabatta, grilled calamari & cannellini crostini, shrimp scampi crostini, ravioli champagne, black angus meat ball, penne BCT, potato leek crusted salmon.

Banchetto Feast is the first completed piece of the puzzle of the Shops at Nanuet, which is previously the Nanuet Mall. The rest should be open by the holiday season of 2013.

"I want to thank everyone here for the seven years of patronage to the restaurant," said Almeida. "A lot of hard work went into making this a reality. It was a team effort and I am very appreciative of everyone involved. I'm so excited about the reopening. I hope the community comes in to check out the new place."

"(Alvarez) He used to have a restaurant in my town, Riverdale, NJ," said Marilyn Personeus. "We were very sad when he came up here to Nanuet. We followed him from restaurant to restaurant. This place is much lighter than the mall location. Their Italian food is excellent."

A group of two couples—Josephine and Richard Martishek of New City and Maryellen and Billy McLaughlin of Bardonia—that attended last night were especially happy about the reopening.

"We go almost every Friday. The food and atmosphere are great, the owners are terrific," said Maryellen McLaughlin. "And the pitchers of sangria are superb."

"We're very happy they are open again, so we can get back to our Friday dinners," said Josephine Martishek. "It's been a long time. I wish them a lot of luck. It's a beautiful place."

McLaughlin added that she "missed them over the summer" because she uses Banchetto Feast every time she caters for a party at her home.
