ROCKLAND JOB NETWORK

Tuesday – November 27, 2012 at Noon in the New City Library

Roundtable Discussion:         TIPS & TOOLS…Facilitator: Jacqui Drechsler-- What have you done in your job search that you feel can help others?  What have you discovered for yourself?  What has really worked for you?  Sometimes we know more than the experts because we have actual experiences and outcomes.  We have our stories and examples to share.  Rarely do we get a chance to really let others know about our accomplishments and realizations; the things that have made us feel satisfied even though we may not have gotten the job.  There is so much that we have learned and we have grown so much more.  This is your time to teach and to maybe learn some more from others.  So bring your best stories, tips and tools for this meeting.

Next meetings:

Monday, December 10, at noon in the Finkelstein Memorial Library

First week in January—To be determined.

The Rockland Job Network (RJN) is helping the unemployed to stay motivated, network and be focused in their job search.  We hold FREE open forum discussions for job seekers and career changers.  Topics include: best practices – networking -- career planning – resources -- motivational support.  It is a platform for information and speakers who can help, teach and encourage.  We embrace a “pay-it-forward” philosophy and are accountable to each other through our attendance at meetings and after we have landed.  If you are searching for a job, changing careers or under-employed, please join our energetic and caring group.  Hopefully you will feel restored and re-invigorated in your career planning and search.

Just a short thought to get the word out quickly about anything in your neighborhood.
Share something with your neighbors. Write a new post... What's up? Make an announcement, speak your mind, or sell something

This is just ridiculous. There are two aspects to our water. Supply and demand. United WaterRead More control our supply and have been instructed by the NY Public Service Commission to increase our supply. Our politicians control our demand. They could enact legislation to restrict demand tomorrow: Introduce water saving measures, restrict growth and introduce incentives and policies to conserve, but do they? No, of course not, they would rather showboat and slam UW, who are doing what the State has mandated. If our local politicians are serious on this issue, propose real legislation and water conservation measure, not just baseless rebuke of UW.
