Hudson Valley Chorale Presents the Rockland-Westchester Premier of Karl Jenkins' Requiem

The Hudson Valley Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Jason Tramm, closes out its 2013-14 season with the Rockland and Westchester County Premier of Karl Jenkins’ Requiem. Jenkins, a world famous English composer, created a masterful tour-de-force with his “Requiem” in a distinctly modern style interspersed with Japanese Haiku verse. The 30-member chorale will be
accompanied by pianist Michael Wittenberg, and an ensemble of strings and percussion instruments.

The remainder of the program will consist of folk music from around the globe. American works include “Songs of Faith” by Gwyneth Walker, “Down To the Water to Pray” arranged by Larry Harris, and a jaunty rendition of “Bile Them Cabbage Down” arranged by Mack Wilberg. The beautiful Korean folk song “Ahrirang” and the South African “Siyahamba” complete the program.

The Chorale is in its seventh year, and is becoming a favorite in the Bergen and Rockland Counties. Come out and enjoy top notch choral music at a reasonable price right in the neighborhood.  A complimentary reception offering snacks and beverages will follow the concert.

Tickets are $15. For information or to purchase tickets, call (845) 598-6749, or email hudsonvalleychorale@gmail.com
