Four Nanuet Students In Westchester-Rockland Science Competition

The four seniors are also entered in the national INTEL Science Talent Search competition.

Four Nanuet Senior High School seniors in Applied Science Research (ASR) will participate in the upcoming Westchester-Rockland Junior Science and Humanities (JSHS) Regional Competition. Ruby Patel, Michael Wallach, Jordana Schucker and Jasmine Weinman have had their research applications accepted for the science contest and also entered the national INTEL Science Talent Search competition.

Patel and Wallach were selected as competitive speakers and each will give a PowerPoint presentation on their research. Schucker and Weinman were selected as competitive poster presenters. Students attending Rockland and Westchester county high schools with completed research can enter the WR-JSHS competition.  All research report submissions are critically reviewed by a committee, which selected the best research for the competition.

The WR-JSHS event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at John Jay High School.  with approximately 130 student speakers and 200 competitive poster presenters.  Finalists selected from the regional competition go on to the New York State competition at SUNY-Albany.  Finalists from the state event qualify to attend the JSHS National Competition.
