Nanuet Play Honors Veterans

Nanuet High School students treated audiences to performances of M*A*S*H* on Friday and Saturday. M*A*S*H* is the acronym for mobile army surgical hospital. The storyline focused on the 4077th M*A*S*H* unit stationed in Korea during the Korean Conflict.

The program included a note from Director and Producer Dr. Jack Gremli explaining why the play was selected.

“This production was inspired by a newspaper article read during the summer of 2013 asking the public to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Korean Conflict armistice by talking to surviving veterans of the conflict about their experiences during the “forgotten war.”

On October 12, 2013 Louis DeVita, the president of the Rockland County Veterans of the Korean War, met with the cast and crew of this production and shared his experiences on the front line in Korea and during rest and recreation (R&R).

This production of M*A*S*H* is dedicated to all those who have served in the armed forces of our great country in time of peace as well as war.
