What are you doing for others on MLK Day of Service?

On Saturday January 19th, 2013 (MLK Day of Service), WCFR will assess the health of the Nanuet community. Honor the legacy. Be a part of our Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service project.

Worldwide Community First Responder, Inc. will participate in the 2013 MLK Day of Service by assessing the health of the Nanuet community!

"Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love" - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The MLK Day of Service provides each of us with an opportunity to join neighbors and local leaders to tackle community challenges and strengthen the nation. In 2012, over 300 volunteers gave 2,000 hours of service in a single day in Westchester, Putnam and Rockland counties.

On Saturday January 19th, 2013, Worldwide Community First Responder (WCFR) - MLK Day of Service will assess the health of the Nanuet community. Volunteers will conduct short surveys of people along Main Street in Nanuet. The 10 minute survey includes questions on demographics and community health.

The purpose of this survey is to get your opinions about community health problems in the Nanuet community. WCFR Health Education will use the results of this survey and other information to identify the most pressing problems which can be addressed through community action.

Join us on Saturday, January 19, 2013 as we commerate the life of Martin Luther King Jr. during a Day of Service at 218 Main St, Nanuet, NY 10954.  Be one of over 400 people engaging in this Day of Service.

Volunteers will survey people in the Main Street area.

Volunteers are needed for 2 shifts on Saturday, January 19th:

An issues conference will be a wast of time and money. So many ' issues ' have been pulled out ofRead More thin air. The people who organized against the plant will just keep saying the same thing. No amount of info will be enough, no answer will be accepted. The issues conference will be a circus of endless questions, ideas, and demands. Haverstraw bay reclassified as drinking water will better protect it, provide an endless supply of water and finally help end the stereotype of the Hudson being polluted Recommend

UW is by far the cheapest utility we have delivering clean water to my family for over 35 years. IRead More can live without cable which costs $160 a month but not without water at about $50 a month. Thank you Mr. Pointing.

Mr. Pointing, I appreciate your clearing this matter up. Too often the Water Company s cast as theRead More Villian by the Press and it is best to nip it in the bud with true facts.

I see your point isnt so much about what they are spending it on, but the process that they followedRead More to get to this point, but are they getting generators for the street lights on main street or the traffic signals? Seems like a project that is way out of control, who has gone to these community centers during storms anyway. All I have ever read about was people charging cell phones at the community centers. Good Job Pat.
