Best in Dining and Medicine meet at Good Samaritan’s Corks & Forks

Good Samaritan Hospital's Corks and Forks, a celebration of fine dining, supports the medical center's Emergency Department

An evening of fine dining and fellowship brought more than 250 people together to support the health care needs of the region on Dec 2. Good Samaritan’s Corks and Forks benefits the medical center's Emergency Department expansion program, ensuring that area residents continue to receive exceptional medical services.

Corks and Forks, held at the Paramount Country Club in New City, featured a group of celebrated chefs, wine aficionados and food purveyors who graced the evening with a distinguished dining experience. The event was co-chaired by Joseph DeCicco, Jr., Regina DeCicco and Irene Mouzakitis of imevents. Trinchero Family Estates joined with Good Samaritan as the exclusive wine partner and The Journal News was the official media sponsor.

A five-course dinner was donated and prepared by Cesare Casella (Salumeria Rosi Parmacotto, NYC), Paramount Country Club, Peter X. Kelly (Xaviars Restaurant Group), Marcello Russodivito (Marcello’s Ristorante), Doug Nguyen (Wasabi Restaurants) and Didier Dumas (Didier Dumas Patisserie). Marc Neuman, Trinchero Family Estates, was the exclusive wine advisor. Mistress of ceremonies and stand-up comedian, Regina DeCicco brought laughter to the room and tenor Luciano Lamonarca entertained.

"Our Emergency Department project is a large-scale initiative," said Philip A. Patterson, chief executive officer of Bon Secours Charity Health System, Good Samaritan's parent organization. “The coming together of so many people to support Corks and Forks goes far beyond the evening itself; it extends well into the future, enabling us to continue to provide the finest healthcare in our region.”

This is just ridiculous. There are two aspects to our water. Supply and demand. United WaterRead More control our supply and have been instructed by the NY Public Service Commission to increase our supply. Our politicians control our demand. They could enact legislation to restrict demand tomorrow: Introduce water saving measures, restrict growth and introduce incentives and policies to conserve, but do they? No, of course not, they would rather showboat and slam UW, who are doing what the State has mandated. If our local politicians are serious on this issue, propose real legislation and water conservation measure, not just baseless rebuke of UW.
