Readers Choice: Best Pet Groomer In Town

We're asking you where your favorite place is to bring your pets

Our Best of Patch contest continues this week with pet groomers. Patch wants to know where's the best place to go get your furry friend washed, shampooed, styled and all other kinds of pampering.

Here are some of our favorite places, but if we're leaving one off of the list, please let us know in the comments and we'll add it:

Voting in the poll below is open until 9 a.m. Friday. Ties will be broken by whichever business has the most positive comments in the section below. We will announce the winner at noon Friday.

So tell us what your favorite place is to shop for your pets. And don't forget to tell us in the comments below why.

Bihari does a wonderful job! I had searched before I found Bihari and was never satisfied, they were okay but not great. When I took them to Bihari it was different, the atmosphere, the people and how the dogs reacted. I trust them with my dogs and they have never let me down, they always come out looking and acting great!

Here's one more to add......"Best Friends" in Chestnut Ridge. They are very friendly, professional, clean, reasonably priced and do a great job! Most of all, my dog loves all the groomers there. She comes home (with her report card filled in) looking beautiful! I have recommended them to many friends.

Bihari....great job, great staff! My dog always needed to be sedated, but not at Bihari. They took their time and were apparently very kind since I never had to sedate him again. SO friendly!

How about Fancy Tails in West Nyack? I brought my little dog there and she came out a beauty and was as happy when she left as when she arrived.

I love the self-service pet wash at Petco. It is great when you don't want to get fur all over your tub.

We take our dogs to Pet Palace in New City. They have 2 men groomers who not only do a great job but they really love dogs. My dogs race to go in the store when we get there & come out wagging their tails when they are done. Quite a difference compared to when they would go elsewhere & leave with their tails between their legs.

I have been with Critters since I moved to Rockland 13 years ago and was thrilled when the owner went with mobile service. It was important to me to have a groomer that is professionally trained and truly cares about her clients, dog and human. I have long-haired dogs and they always come off the truck with beautiful shiny, fresh-smelling coats. On holidays they come in with festive neckerchiefs and my kids love that. I stay with Critters because they are the best!

I bring my Maltese to Siggy at Fancy Tails in West Nyack. He comes out of there looking beautiful. I tried a van once (Not Critters) and he came back all Chopped up and stunk! She does a beautiful job. You can tell she knows what she is doing.

USA Dog Shop in the Palisades Mall should be on the list and gets my vote...one stop shopping for all your needs...grooming, training, day care, supplies...and they promote pet adoptions NOT the sale of animals from puppy mills like some of the others on the list!

We've been bringing our dog to Dapper Dog for two years now. The owners truly love animals and also have a animal rescue organization.

Okay....you said...."Here are some of our favorite places, but if we're leaving one off of the list, please let us know in the comments and we'll add it"........I asked to add a shop...as did other people...and you never did. Hmmm....very disappointing....

Aerial view of proposed United Water treatment plant

An issues conference will be a wast of time and money. So many ' issues ' have been pulled out ofRead More thin air. The people who organized against the plant will just keep saying the same thing. No amount of info will be enough, no answer will be accepted. The issues conference will be a circus of endless questions, ideas, and demands. Haverstraw bay reclassified as drinking water will better protect it, provide an endless supply of water and finally help end the stereotype of the Hudson being polluted Recommend

UW is by far the cheapest utility we have delivering clean water to my family for over 35 years. IRead More can live without cable which costs $160 a month but not without water at about $50 a month. Thank you Mr. Pointing.
Paul Williams June 16, 2013 at 12:35 pm
Mr. Pointing, I appreciate your clearing this matter up. Too often the Water Company s cast as theRead More Villian by the Press and it is best to nip it in the bud with true facts.
Stacee Jaxx June 17, 2013 at 03:48 pm
I see your point isnt so much about what they are spending it on, but the process that they followedRead More to get to this point, but are they getting generators for the street lights on main street or the traffic signals? Seems like a project that is way out of control, who has gone to these community centers during storms anyway. All I have ever read about was people charging cell phones at the community centers. Good Job Pat.
