The Nanuet Civic Association works to keep the residents of Nanuet informed and involved in their community. They meet the first Thursday of the month, 7:15 p.m. at the  

They just announced what's on the agenda for the meeting this week:

The next meeting of the Nanuet Civic Association will be at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday May 3rd in the Community Room on the 2nd floor of the Nanuet Public Library on Church Street.

Our guest speaker, Dr. Mark McNeill, Nanuet Superintendant of Schools, will discuss the new budget and other issues involving our schools. Remember there is a school board election coming up and hopefully some of the candidates will introduce themselves.

Roberta Bangs will report on the Hi Tor Shelter which is facing an unprecedented crisis and desperately needs our support to survive. 

Jim Flynn, along with Kim and Krista will update us on: the Highview Playground , Nanuet Chamber of Commerce, and Family Fest 2012 on June 2nd at the Outdoor Education Center (old St Agatha’s). We are reserving a booth and looking for volunteers from 11 – 3 

At least one of our four Legislators usually attend and can speak on the County’s financial woes. Members of the Town Council, Buildings, Highway, Police, and Fire Departments will also be on hand to address our concerns.

Keep Rockland Beautiful

Local groups are gathering on weekends to participate in Keep Rockland Beautiful's Great American Cleanup. This volunteer event includes hundreds of people across the county.

Each week, groups send in their clean up photos to Patch and we post them in a as a thank you shout out to those volunteers. However, if you go to the Keep Rockland Beautiful Facebook Page, there are a lot more photos.
