Community Corner

Rockland County Coalition for Drug Free Schools and Communities host a Youth Forum attended by 45 High School Aged Youth

The Rockland County Coalition for Drug Free Schools and Communities hosted a Youth Forum last Wednesday, November 13th from 6-7:30.  The room was packed with 45 high school aged youth who came from all parts of the County.  Dornzella Milligan, Tanya Soto and Kim Gizzi did a wonderful job facilitating the discussion and helping 45 young people who did not know each other talk openly about substance abuse in the County.  The youth said they liked coming together with people from different parts of the County and hearing the different perspectives, and hearing how similar many of the issues are.  Some of the youth expressed an interest in forming a youth committee to work on some initiatives in the future.
Pizza and salad was provided by the Youth Bureau and delicious cupcakes were generously donated by Caked up! -- a brand new shop in New City.
