The RCC Foundation provides student scholarships and other financial resources for the College. They have awarded more than $3 million in scholarships, with over $300,000 awarded annually to help approximately 250 students each year. This ceremony is for recipients of the 17 scholarships reserved for recent local high school graduates who started at RCC in the fall 2013 semester.
Some scholarships are reserved for specific groups including veterans, alumni family members, adult learners, single parents, and for those pursuing selected fields of study and career. The Foundation even awards scholarships for students who are graduating RCC and continuing their education at four-year institutions. Scholarship are awarded in a broad range of categories including excellence in academics, athletics, or service to the community. Some scholarships are endowed by families who create a legacy to honor the memory of a loved one by offering educational opportunity to a promising student.
Print copies of the Scholarships for New Students booklet are available at local high school guidance offices and at RCC Admissions, Financial Aid, and at RCC Foundation offices. See the RCC Foundation scholarships brochures online at: www.sunyrockland.edu/alumni-friends/scholarships/scholarships
