Suspected Mother Of Baby Angel Indicted On Murder Charge

Maria Oliva Guaman-Guaman has been indicted by a Rockland County Grand Jury on one charge of second-degree murder allegedly in connection with the death of her newborn son. According to the felony charge against her, Guaman-Guaman is accused of strangling the full term infant with some type of cord and disposing of his body in a recycling bin outside a Spring Valley convenience store.

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Zugibe said the investigation into the death of the infant named Baby Angel is continuing.

“According to the charges, this defendant senselessly and needlessly killed her newborn son,” said Zugibe. “That a mother could allegedly inflict such brutality on her own helpless child is beyond comprehension. She must be severely punished.”
