Clarkstown Police are searching for a suspect allegedly involved in two sex abuse cases involving young girls at the Palisades Center in late December.  Police released photos of the suspect who is accused of approaching the girls in separate incidents at the Barnes & Noble and Bed, Bath & Beyond stores.

In the December 26 late afternoon incident, the 10-year-girl was sitting on a bench in Barnes & Noble’s children’s section when the suspect allegedly approached her from behind and performed a lewd act near her. The girl’s mother was shopping nearby. On December 21, a similar incident occurred to an eight-year-old girl in Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Sgt. Jo Anne Fratianni said, “The suspect appears to be a Caucasian or Hispanic male in his late 20s, over 200 pounds, with a full beard and mustache.  He was wearing all black with a large imprinted area on the front of his shirt, and a baseball cap backwards.”

Fratianni said the man may have left the mall in the passenger seat of a light green or similar colored van with out of state plates.  Anyone with information about either incident or who recognizes the person in the photos is asked to call the Clarkstown Police Department at 845-639-5800 or the TIPS line at 1-877-639-6233.

I can never understand why information about crimes that are committed at the Palisades Mall are not immediately available to the news media. This first incident happened on Dec. 21st. If parents were aware of this, they might have kept their children a little closer to them. Instead, two weeks later the public becomes aware of this.

We cannot blame the malls. Parents are very careless with their children in malls and stores. I work retail and there were alot of shildren getting lost because parents are too caught up with either their shopping or talking on the cell phones Look what happened at Garden State Plaza a teen wanting to commit suicide cause cahos at that mall in november. There are alot of mentaal cases walking around and iam sure happens at many public places. So parents keep your eyes on your children and do less talking on the cell.

clarkstown police also CANNOT BLAME PALISADES MALL THEY HAVE NO CONTROL OF WHO WALKS INTO THE MALL EACH AND EVERYDAY NEITHER DOES ANY OTHER MALL LIKE MALL OF AMERICA AND NO ONE KNEW THAT INCIDENT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN AT GARDEN STATE PLAZA IN NOVEMBER. SO RESIDENTS AND CLARKSTOWN POLICE DONT ALWAYS ASSUME EVERYTHING JUST HAPPENS AT PALISADES IT COULD HAPPEN ANYWHERE EVEN SHOPS AY NANUET. ROOSEVELT FIELD HAD AN INCIDENT ON CHRISTMAS EVE AND A TEEN BRAwl fight at kings plaza in brooklyn the day after christmas. because i know all of you have this thing with palisades iam pointing out to you an the news media its the unfortunate kind of world we live in today.
