Cleats ‘N Sneaks Employee Charged With Stealing $5,000 In Merchandise

Clarkstown Police arrested Karl Davenport, 25, of Spring Valley and charged him with stealing more than $5,000 of merchandise from Cleats ‘n Sneaks in Nanuet and selling it on Ebay.

Police arrested Davenport at his home on Tuesday and charged him with felony Grand Larceny. According to police, Davenport started working at the sporting goods store in February.

“Over a period of time the store noticed that it was missing inventory,” said Sgt. Jo Anne Fratianni.  “An investigation conducted by the Clarkstown Police Department Detective Bureau uncovered that Davenport had stolen over $5000 worth of merchandise and was selling it on Ebay.”

He was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court and sent to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of bail.  Davenport is due back in court on Friday. According to police their investigation continues and additional charges are expected.
