A 24-year-old Nanuet man was arrested on drug charges late Monday after he was found passed out behind the wheel of a car in Nyack, according to Orangetown Police.
He was found by town officers at about 10:46 p.m. at the Nyack Walgreens store, 16 Route 59, where someone had reported seeing a man apparently passed out in the car. Police said that when town officers looked inside the car, they could see a plastic bag containing pills and four envelopes containing a white substance.
Police said the plastic bag contained 14 Xanax pills and the white substance tested positive for heroin. He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
He was later released to a family member on $250 bail pending a Nyack Village Court hearing on Feb. 12.
