On Tuesday, June 5, “a teaching assistant leaped out of an open window. Thankfully it was a one-story building,” said Clarkstown Police. “He was wondering around the school grounds.”
The incident happened around 10 a.m. and police added that Miller Elementary school was on lock down until he was located, most likely to prevent him from returning to the school since he wasn’t in a stable mental state. He was then transported to a crisis unit at Nyack Hospital.
At the Nanuet Civic Association on Thursday night, Clarkstown Officer Mark Hamilla said that the TA was having a bad day and because it was a school environment, the building had to be locked down.
