NYC Shooting Victim was Former Nanuet Man

Steve Ercolino and his family used to live on Wolf Place in Nanuet

Nanuet residents are shocked at how close to home the news hit of the victim in the .

Originally from Nanuet, Steven Ercolino, 41, was the victim of Friday’s NYC shooting.

Jeffrey Johnson, 53—who was fired from his apparel-industry job a year ago—opened fire near the Empire State Building killing his Ercolino, his former manager.

Ercolino grew up in Nanuet on Wolf Place and went to Clarkstown South HS. His neighbors say he was a hard working man.

“The Ercolinos … lived right across the street in that house,” said Ingrid Prieditis, pointing to the light yellow house across the street from her.

“The victim of (Friday) morning's shooting at the ESB appears to have been a resident of Nanuet, NY at one time," said Wendy Mierbeth in a post on Nanuet Patch’s Facebook wall. "Sympathy to the family and friends of Steven Ercolino, the 41 year old V.P. who was gunned down today by a former co-worker."

This is just ridiculous. There are two aspects to our water. Supply and demand. United WaterRead More control our supply and have been instructed by the NY Public Service Commission to increase our supply. Our politicians control our demand. They could enact legislation to restrict demand tomorrow: Introduce water saving measures, restrict growth and introduce incentives and policies to conserve, but do they? No, of course not, they would rather showboat and slam UW, who are doing what the State has mandated. If our local politicians are serious on this issue, propose real legislation and water conservation measure, not just baseless rebuke of UW.
