Police Arrest Two Local Residents On DWI Charges

Clarkstown Police arrested two area residents on DWI charges in separate incidents early Saturday morning.  Police reported the arrest of Hipolito Silva-Gonzalez, 50, of Valley Cottage on Upper Nyack just after midnight and Michal Livingston, 34, of Nanuet before 1 a.m.

Silva-Gonzalez was observed driving erratically and after being stopped refused to take field sobriety tests.  He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, both felonies after failing a breathalyzer test.  Silva-Gonzalez was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court and sent to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.  He is scheduled to reappear in court today.

Livingston was arrested on felony DWI after she was involved in an accident on Middletown Road at Route 59 in Nanuet. Police report she rear-ended another car that was stopped at the traffic light.  Livingston failed field sobriety tests and refused to submit to take a breathalyzer test.  She was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court and sent to jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.  Livingston was scheduled to appear in court today.
