Police: Driver Hit with Felony DWI Charge in Nanuet

Monsey resident stopped on Middletown Road for driving erratically.

A Monsey man stopped by police in Nanuet for driving erratically early Sunday morning has been hit with felony drunken driving charges, according to Clarkstown Police.

Police said Jacob Goldring, 41, was spotted driving a 2003 Ford erratically on Middletown Road and was stopped by a town officer at about 3 a.m. Police said Goldring appeared intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests.

Goldring was taken to Clarkstown Police Headquarters in New City, where police said he refused to take a chemical breath test for alcohol. He was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and issued a traffic ticket for failure to obey a traffic device.

Goldring was arraigned in Clarkstown Town Court in New City and released on $2,000 bail pending a hearing on Wednesday. Goldring, police said, was charged with felony DWI because of a previous conviction on that charge.
