On Saturday April 19, 2014 at approximately 11:40 AM, the Clarkstown Police Department responded to Highview Avenue in Nanuet on a report of a single motor vehicle accident. A vehicle had struck a utility pole in the area of
Highview Elementary School.

The driver, a 50-year-old Nanuet resident, was interviewed and appeared to be intoxicated but was not injured. He was unable to perform field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest and transported to Nyack Hospital ER, where he submitted to a blood test to determine his blood alcohol content.

He was issued an appearance ticket to return to Clarkstown Justice Court on April 30 to answer the charges of driving while intoxicated (misdemeanor) and possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle(traffic infraction).
