Police Report Leads In Palisades Center Sex Abuse Incident

The Clarkstown Police Department reports it has received numerous leads in its investigation of a sex abuse incident at the Palisades Center in December involving a 10-year-old girl. The department is no longer asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the person and van shown in photos released on Monday.

Sgt. Jo Anne Fratianni said it is still an active investigation that no arrests have been made and no one is in custody.

Police reported that on December 26th a 10-year-girl was sitting on a bench in Barnes & Noble’s children’s section when the suspect allegedly approached her from behind and performed a lewd act next to her. The girl’s mother was shopping nearby. On December 21, a similar incident occurred to an eight-year-old girl in Bed, Bath & Beyond at the West Nyack mall.
