Repeat Car Burglar Nabbed by Cops, Clarkstown Police Say

A West Nyack resident living on Fawn Court spotted an unusual sight this past Monday—an unknown man sitting inside of his parked car.

Clarkstown Police said the incident occurred at 1:20 p.m. Authorities responded, using the witness' description to track down the alleged thief. 

Police arrested Jeffrey Konan, a 21-year-old West Nyack resident, and soon learned he was linked to a spate of other car larcenies throughout Rockland, authorities told Patch.

Konan was charged with: 

  • Grand larceny 4th and criminal possession of stolen property 4th (both felonies) for a theft that occurred on June 12, 2013 in New City. 
  • Petty larceny and criminal possession of stolen property 5th (both misdemeanors) for a theft that occurred on June 13, 2013 in New City.
  • Petty larceny and criminal possession of stolen property 5th (both misdemeanors) for a theft that occurred on June 11, 2013 in Valley Cottage. 
  • Attempted petit larceny and trespass for the incident that took place on Fawn Court, West Nyack.
