Rockland Court Report: Leandra’s Law Violation, Robbery, Burglary

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Zugibe released details of recent county grand jury indictments including charges of breaking Leandra’s Law, reckless endangerment, robbery and burglary.

Jose Reyes-Sandoval, 47, of Monsey was indicted for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and DWI.   Reyes-Sandoval is accused of DWI while alledgely was driving with his 13-year-old daughter in the car, a violation of Leandra’s Law. Police stopped Reyes-Sandoval for driving the wrong way on a one-way street in the Village of Haverstraw. The defendant refused to take a sobriety test.

Maurice Mayfield, 35, of West Haverstraw was indicted on charges of Burglary and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. According to Zugibe, Mayfield was asked by the victim to stop smoking marijuana outside the victim’s apartment.

“The defendant entered his own apartment and went back out to yell at the victim through the victim’s window,” said Zugibe. “The defendant then kicked open the victim’s door and threatened the victim with a knife in one hand and punched the victim with the other hand.”

Jonas Marseille, 19, of Spring Valley was indicted on charges of Robbery and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. Zugibe said on August 24 Maseille alledgely stole money from the victim who was at 50 Commerce Street in the Village of Spring Valley. The victim tried to stop Marseille who reportedly displayed a knife and threatened the victim with it.

Juan Molina, 25 of West Haverstraw was indicted on charges of Reckless Endangerment, Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Menacing. According to Zugibe, Molina alledgely discharged a .38 handgun in front of other individuals. The incident reportedly occurred on Main Street in the Village of Haverstraw on August 11 at approximately 12:55 a.m.
