Spring Valley Home Destroyed By Fire

Volunteers firefighters at first feared someone was trapped in burning house.

A Spring Home, where volunteer firefighters feared someone might have been trapped, was destroyed by fire Sunday afteroon.

The small home at 22 Prospect St. was fully involved with fire when Spring Valley firefighters got to the home just after 4 p.m. However, they discovered that no one was home at the time of the fire.

Fire melted the siding on the house right next door, where several young children were inside. But no one was injured

The Rockland County Sheriff's Department Bureau of Criminal Identification is investigating the fire and trying to determine its cause.
