A Suffern man is charged with drunken driving and reckless driving after an incident on the New York State Thruway in Nanuet, according to the .
Jeffrey Varghese, 32, of Suffern, was stopped by a Sheriff's officer on the Thruway at about 2:15 a.m. on Saturday. Police said Varghese was driving recklessly northbound on the Thruway.
Police said that when Varghese was stopped he was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to the Sheriff's headquarters in New City. Varghese was later released pending a May 7 hearing in Clarkstown Town Court in New City on charges of driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and reckless driving, a misdemeanor.
