Suicidal Call Draws Helicopter to Deepford and Oakwood

The scanner reported a body near the Occoquan Reservoir. It is unknown whether this is related to the suicidal call.

Last night, at about 9:30 p.m., a suicidal call brought emergency units to the area of Deepford and Oakwood in Lake Ridge. A helicopter circled overhead with searchlights on for about half an hour and police closed the road.

"It was a call of a suicidal subject. That's all we are going to say at the moment," PWC Police Officer Jonathan Perok told Patch at 10 p.m. last night. When Lake Ridge Patch spoke with him at 8 a.m. this morning, he said he could not release any more information at this time.

According to the police scanner, a body was found near the Occoquan Reservoir. It is unknown whether that discovery is related to the suicidal call.

Check back with Patch for more updates as this story develops.

My husband and I were canoeing on the Occoquan River near the Forest Hill marina yesterday from 7:20 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. I was shooting a Viewfinder gallery for Patch. We didn't notice anything peculiar at the time. This is terrible news.
