An SUV crashed into the front of the Finkelstein Memorial Library in Spring Valley at about 7:45 p.m., according to CBS2.

"It was a scary thing," one patron told CBS2.

Among the six people injured were several children, including a teenager who ended up under the car. All are expected to recover, according to the news station.

Apparently the driver may have hit the accelerator instead of the brake. The library could be closed for weeks.

It looks like the car drove up the stairs. How is that possible? Hope everyone that was injured will be alright. The poor kid that was pinned under the car must have been so scared. My thoughts and prayers are with all.

Thanks, Jill -- I must have missed that when I was listening and typing last night!

Why are those security barriers placed so far apart? They're designed to stop this from happening but the opening is wider than a politicians mouth!

I hope investigators are considering the liklihood of electronically-induced unintended acceleration, especially if the SUV is a Toyota. The acknowledged crook is now being allowed to ignore compelling evidence of eclectronic defects in its throttle control. Read "Toyota's killer firmware: Bad design and its consequences." Embedded systems expert Michael Barr found the following defects in Toyota's electronic throttle control: * Toyota's electronic throttle control system (ETCS) source code is of unreasonable quality.* Toyota's source code is defective and contains bugs, including bugs that can cause unintended acceleration (UA) * Code-quality metrics predict presence of additional bugs. * Toyota's fail safes are defective and inadequate (referring to them as a 'house of cards' safety architecture). * Misbehaviours of Toyota's ETCS are a cause of UA. I've been blogging about the electronics issue - search "Beware of Toyota. Their next victim may be YOU..."
