Rockland Bus Fares Waived Through Sunday

Most service on or close to schedule.

Rockland's Department of Planning & Public Transportation announced bus fares will be waived on the TOR, TZx, and TRIPS lines through the end of service Sunday evening.

According to the DPPT, most service is on or close to schedule with some routes experiencing intermittent delays or route changes due to Sandy cleanup.

Emergency-based transportation is also available through the county for those needing transportation to the Red Cross Emergency Shelter at Rockland Community College. Call 845-364-8747 for more information.

Residents are encouraged to use public transportation to help conserve gas.

Following is the bus schedule:

Nov. 3:

TOR: Normal Saturday schedule.

TZx: Normal Saturday schedule.

TRIPS: Regular service, but riders should check that their destination is open and has power.

Nov. 4:

TOR: Normal Sunday schedule, some detours due to road closures.

TZx: No Sunday service.

TRIPS: ADA service only.

My compliments to George Grieve and the Coach USA drivers and mechanics for a job well done under extremely bad conditions. I don't believe a small company without the proper assets could have done it with major delays..
