Free Kids Eye Screening At Senator's Nanuet Office

David Carlucci and the Lions Club of North Rockland are offering free eye screenings to kids ages 2-5 on Monday

Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Orange) and the Lions Club of North Rockland are hosting a free eye screening program for children between the ages of 2 – 5 years old.  The program helps identify children with amblyopia and is conducted in partnership with the Ira G. Ross Eye Institute.

The event will be held Monday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Senator Carlucci’s District Office, located at 95 South Middletown Road, Nanuet.

“It's about preventive medicine. Early eye examinations are critical for the health and well being of children, and this event that we are hosting will hopefully ensure that every child has the gift of sight for many years to come,” said Senator Carlucci.  “I would like to thank the Lions Club of North Rockland for working with my office to arrange this free event for every child to take advantage.”

Specialty trained Lions Club volunteers will conduct as simple photo vision screening for children whose parents have registered for the quick, noninvasive test.  Results will then be read and evaluated by professionals at the Ira G. Ross Eye Institute.

Parents will be informed of any results that may require further testing, including follow up information provided.

Registration is required.  Anyone interested in having their child participate should call Senator Carlucci’s office at (845) 623-3627.

This is just ridiculous. There are two aspects to our water. Supply and demand. United WaterRead More control our supply and have been instructed by the NY Public Service Commission to increase our supply. Our politicians control our demand. They could enact legislation to restrict demand tomorrow: Introduce water saving measures, restrict growth and introduce incentives and policies to conserve, but do they? No, of course not, they would rather showboat and slam UW, who are doing what the State has mandated. If our local politicians are serious on this issue, propose real legislation and water conservation measure, not just baseless rebuke of UW.
