NY Giants Ticker-Tape Parade Set for Tuesday

The Super Bowl champions will be feted by NYC Tuesday.

The celebratory ticker tape parade for the New York Giants—winner of Super Bowl XLVI—will kick off at Battery Place and Washington Street in New York City on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 11 a.m.

“Big Blue gave us a game to remember, and on Tuesday we're going to give them a parade to remember,” said New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg in a statement today.

The parade will travel north on the Canyon of Heroes to Worth Street. A ceremony will follow at City Hall, where the mayor will present the Keys to the City to the team.

Metro North will be offering additional trains to accommodate travelers tomorrow:

To Grand Central Terminal:

  • Harlem Line — 8:30 a.m. express from Southeast, stopping in Brewster, Goldens Bridge, Katonah, Mount Kisco, Chappaqua, , North White Plains, Harlem 125th Street, arriving at Grand Central Terminal at 9:49 a.m.
  • New Haven Line — 8:47 a.m. express from New Haven, stopping in Milford, Stratford, Bridgeport, Stamford, Harlem 125th Street, arriving at Grand Central Terminal at 10:20 a.m.
  • Hudson Line — 8:40 a.m. express from Poughkeepsie, stopping at New Hamburg, Beacon, Peekskill, Harlem 125th Street, arriving at Grand Central Terminal at 10:10 a.m.

From Grand Central Terminal:

  • Harlem Line — 3:37 p.m. express train stopping at White Plains, Goldens Bridge, Purdy's, Croton Falls, Brewster and Southeast
  • New Haven Line — 3:23 p.m. express stopping at Westport, Fairfield, Fairfield Metro, Bridgeport, Stratford, Milford and New Haven
  • Hudson Line — 2:40 p.m. and 3:25 p.m. express trains stopping at Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie

NJ TRANSIT will offer extra bus service on 18 routes, increase capacity on select, previously-scheduled trains and add customer service ambassadors at Newark Penn Station and Hoboken Terminal tomorrow to accommodate Giants fans attending tomorrow’s Super Bowl victory ticker-tape parade in Lower Manhattan.

According to nj.com, after the parade, the team will head to the Meadowlands' MetLife Stadium for a 3 p.m. rally. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is expected to be in attendance.
