Rockland Democrats gathered at Clarkstown Town Hall Thursday evening to elected Kristen Zebrowski-Stavisky their new chairwoman.

Stavisky, 40, is the sister of Assemblyman Kenneth Zebrowski, D-New City. She replaces former chairman Vince Monte, 68, who served a total of 27 years since 1980.

"I never wanted to be anything but county chair," Monte said, addressing a packed courtroom prior to the election.
