These words send a chill of excitement up my leg. These are the issues that get me up and running every morning and keep my attention all day.

As I sat down to write my first post for this blog I thought to myself, "where do I begin?" As a consumer protection attorney, it is my intention to write a frequent blog that is informative, useful, locally relevant and dare I say even entertaining. For this introductory post, I wanted to write something flashy, something that would really engage the readers and get his or her attention, something that demonstrates how exciting and rewarding the world of consumer protection can be. 

Then it dawned on me—consumer protection is not flashy, it's not exciting. To the contrary, consumer issues are actually quite frustrating, infuriating even. If you are spending anytime reading about consumer issues it's not because you get that same chill up your leg that I do, it’s more likely because you either got ripped off or are afraid that you’re gonna get ripped off! There is nothing fun or exciting about that. 

With that in mind, I feel motivated, invigorated and challenged. In this blog I am going illustrate for you readers how exciting this subject can be. I will do this by showing you how to equip yourself with the tools necessary to fend off the fraudsters and protect your wallet. I will show you how using these tools, you as the consumer, can turn the tables on the grifters and empower yourself to be a victor rather than a victim. The first tool in your consumer protection arsenal is knowledge. The easiest victim is always the least informed. Knowledge truly is power and it is my intention to empower each and every one of my readers.

So, as my first act of empowerment, I offer you the following list of resources which are rich with information to help consumers fend off the bad guys:
