Albertus Magnus Puts its Science Labs Under the Microscope

Donations have helped refurbish one lab, funds sought to renovate two more science classrooms.

Albertus Magnus High School has always graduated smart kids from National Merit Scholars to students accepted into high-ranking colleges. They plan to keep that going by updating three of their science labs with 21st century state-of-the-art science classrooms.

The three classrooms in this "Lab Rehab" campaign are:

  • Chemistry Laboratory
  • Biology Laboratory
  • Physics Laboratory

The price tag for the first lab makeover is $245,000, which was paid by the Falcon Parents' Club Auction and AMHS Credit Facilities. The Falcon Parents' club raised  $123,000 from the spring dinner and auction event the last two years. The benefit event last March sold out and that helped build the first lab, Chemistry, this past summer.

To pay for the other two, there will be special events and a total of $400,000 is needed. Although the club will still raise money from its spring event, extra help from anyone is greatly appreciated. Pledges and gifts can be made as an online donation with Visa, MasterCard or Discover.

Those doing online donations can request their employers make a matching gift. Also, contributions can be put on a pledge cycle of 2-4 years allowing a patron Naming Options for their family.

To donate online, go to the website of AMHS and the link is on the main page. For more information, contact Marty Moran in the Alumni Office at 845-623-8842, ext.  229 or mmoran@albertusmagnus.net.
