2nd Annual Back-to-School Backpack Family Event

Sunday, August 19th  2:00pm - 5:00pm

This year the Haverstraw Holiday Meal Committee in partnership with Temple Beth Sholom of New City, is launching their 2nd Annual Back-to-School Back pack Event.

As we struggle in this economy, many parents work hard to provide for their children.  We know sometimes its hard to give them the supplies & tool the children need to start their school year on the right course.

Our goal is to provide 300 backpacks filled with folders, pens, pencils, rulers, crayons, notebooks, glue, etc to the children in our community.

We are in the need of donations and are asking for school supplies, cases of water, food, etc.  Deliveries can be dropped off at 6 Broadway, Haverstraw, NY 10927.  Emily Dominguez @ 845.947.8532

The Haverstraw Holiday Meals Fund has established a fund under the Rockland Community Foundations.  If you would like to make a tax deductible monetary donation, please make your check out to:

We want to Thank you for your support & generosity in making all our events possible every year.

This is just ridiculous. There are two aspects to our water. Supply and demand. United WaterRead More control our supply and have been instructed by the NY Public Service Commission to increase our supply. Our politicians control our demand. They could enact legislation to restrict demand tomorrow: Introduce water saving measures, restrict growth and introduce incentives and policies to conserve, but do they? No, of course not, they would rather showboat and slam UW, who are doing what the State has mandated. If our local politicians are serious on this issue, propose real legislation and water conservation measure, not just baseless rebuke of UW.
