Nanuet Girl Scouts Present Car Wash Check to Highview Playground

They raised $818 for the future playground

A few months ago, the Nanuet Girl Scout Troop 40208 came up with the idea of a car wash and bake sale fundraiser to benefit the Highview Community Playground Rebuilding Project.

Back in June, the skies were not looking so great causing the car wash to be postponed to the following weekend. That wasn't a problem as there was a line of cars in front of Miller Elementary. Troop 40208 gathered other Nanuet girl scout troops to help with the fundraiser.

On Thursday, some of the girl scouts met up again at the same elementary to hand over the results of their hard work and planning: a check for $818.

"I'm very happy and proud to do the car wash and raise money for the Highview Playground," said Girl Scout Melanie Clancy.

Playground Steering Committee President Michelle Mazzaro was there to accept the check.

"I'm so proud of the girl scouts and all the hard work they did at the car wash," said Mazzaro. "It was so hot that day, but so many came out to support a great cause. I, along with the rest of the Playground Committee members, appreciate their dedication in helping to make this future Highview Playground a reality."

Check out the car wash to see how it went and don't forget that today is the day followed by the rummage sale this weekend.
